String Fever produces a show of a well placed blend of music and humor. This band has a great time on stage and it is passed on to their audiences everywhere they play. Five fine musicians make up the band including Bruce Jepson (guitar, Dobro and vocals), Peter Becker (mandolin and vocals), Ridley Enslow (fiddle and vocals), Sandy Joren (bass and vocals) and Mickey Maguire (banjo). The group has been featured on many network and cable tv stations. The Travis Wetzel Trio is a dynamic, eclectic, acoustic trio covering many musical styles including Jazz, Bluegrass, Cajun, Traditional and Contemporary Country music. Three musicians make up the band including Travis Wetzel (fiddler), Bob Harris (multi-instrumentalist) and Ron Greenstein (multi-instrumentalist). Adding to this year's line-up is Union Forge Bluegrass; a local band with roots in Clinton. Union Forge consists of five acoustic musicians, three of which have been together playing Bluegrass since the early seventies. One attribute of Union Forge which sets them apart from traditional bluegrass artists is their willingness to perform selections not usually associated with Bluegrass. They feature the stunning signing voice of Carol Archdeacon of Union Township, and the Banjo expertise of John Miller of Stanton who spent many years with the likes of Don Reno and has trained under Tony Trischka. As a bonus to early arrivals to the concert, Union Forge will provide selections ranging from the Beatles to selections from "Porgy and Bess" to well known Bluegrass, and all with a big dose of humor! Yet another local band may add to the lineup starting at 5:30pm. All proceeds benefit the Red Mill Museum Village. The Village is located on a ten-acre site nestled along the banks of the tranquil South Branch of the Raritan River and includes a two hundred year old mill, limestone quarry and kilns and a collection of historic buildings. |
